Prospective
Health Anthropology and Tibetan Tsa-rLung Traditional Healing
Psychotherapy, being certified as Cross-cultural
Awareness Postgraduate projects, within
a flexible menu. Cairn options are organized from highly selected
resources, based in Nepal, India, Tibet TAR
China, Canada, USA, UK and EU.
CAIRN OTG offers
a rigorous but flexible program of experiential cultural immersion
study options, grounded on the methodology of Adult Continuous
Education Mixed Mode ECTS/ECDL Certification and e-Learning resources.
It particularly focuses on the synthesis between Health Anthropology,
Humanitarian
Assistance, Applied Psychology to Counselling and Tibetan Medicine
Energotherapy. Based on the comparative approach of the Tibetan Nyingma
Tsa-rLung Yoga tradition with ancient Keltic Shamanic Healing and
modern Energotherapy monitoring computerized tools, it is enriched with
studies and practices from other faiths,
practices and philosophies, such as the Qi Qong, Tao, American Shamans
and Yogas healing traditions, as well as knowledge in pedagogy,
psychology and organizational leadership training methods.
The curriculum
follows levels of a stepwise embodiment coursework,
designed to develop a fully qualified practice including ethical
organizational leadership for healing and counselling skills. The
levels
correspond to EU Postgraduate and Professional Doctorate levels study.

or just

clarification on the hermeneutics and awareness on yoga practices being
considered.
CAIRN follows the inspiring
and innovative drive, launched in the early 1980s by late Tarab Tulku
Rimpoche, Trungpa Rimpoche, Dudjom Rimpoche, Kyentse Rimpoche, as well
as nowadays by Tenzin Wangyal Rpch, Lopon Tenzin Namdak and others, in
their continuous efforts to facilitate a more transparent and
scientific approach to the concepts and practices of Dzogchen and the
"Body of Light". Directly linked in Nepal with the experiential nature
of the Vajrayana philosophy, tools and practices in its natural
context, CAIRN allows researchers to gain a more intimate embodiment of
the Sacred Healing Arts, as may still be found nowadays in the
Himalayan Ayurveda, Chinese Qi-Qong and Tibetan Medicine Tsa-rLung
living traditions.
The purpose of this
professional training programs is to train students in professional
areas of the discipline of e-Psychotherapy, Counselling and
Humanitarian Assistance psychology. Each program is designed to
provide: (i) a grounding in the theoretical, conceptual and empirical
foundations of Tibetan e-Psychology and skills relevant to the various
areas of professional practice; (ii) a supervision of practical
experience as required under EC- Postgraduate and Professional Thesis
ECTS/ECDL in the Himalayan context; and (iii) a focus on action
research in the selected areas of professional specialisation for
answering current Himalayan priorities.
Compared with more
conventional Psychology programs, CAIRN programs will provide a strong
Asian cultural immersion research basis for Westerners future
professional activities in Asia, as well as facilitate further insights
in professional practices (NGOs, INGOs, HEIs and SMEs).

OTG Mission Statement
The CAIRN
OTG Mission Statement is :
- to offer
high- education curriculum and field-research options, in tailored
joint- Postgraduate programs that promote and cultivate cross-cultural awareness in Dharma Traditional
Healing Philosophy through the intellectual study of the heritage, the
know-how of technical skills, the embodiment through artistic and
meditative disciplines in pursuance of European ECTS/ECDL
certification;
- to foster Tibetan Tsa-rLung
Yoga
Philosophy experiential learning within the practicing community
(composed of students, faculty, yogis, monks, lamas and alumni) that
uncovers the common roots of ancient healing wisdom and
compassion;
- to cultivate openness and
communication, sharpen critical intellect, enhance resourcefulness, and
develop effective action in all related Humanitarian Applied
Psychology activities;
- to
exemplify
the principles grounded in the
Wisdom and Humanities of both the Ancient Keltic and the Tibetan
Vajrayana Dharma educational
heritages;
- to
encourage
the integration of the Body of
Light healing and embodiment traditions into the modern world.
Tsa-rLung Coaching
The Tsa-rLung
roots practice, so called: Tsa-rLung-‘khrul’khor-gyi-bcos-thabs,
is a yogic tantric tradition of ancient Tibetan and Indian Buddhist
masters since more than 2500 years. It can be easily compared with
similar TaiChi, QiQong and Reiki practices. Nowadays the Tsa-rLung
tradition is still practiced by Tibetan Nagpas and Amchis. They cure
the people by giving love, compassion, spiritual energy, tantric and
mantric power. They transfer positive energy through their hands by
touch and restore the body/mind unbalances. The Tsa-rLung
practice entirely belongs to the Buddhist teaching and practice
concepts.
The proper flow
of the energy through the body channels (Tsa) brings the cause
of a good health and prolongs life. It helps to avoid the toxin
accumulation in the channels which blocks the channels and heart
functions of the body/mind. The Tsa-rLung therapy practitioners learn
the art of holistic healing and the deep nature of the human body/mind
systems by knowing the structure of the traditional psycho-physical
nature and its functions. One who understands the method may become
able to regulate these complex systems. Certain subjects are beyond the
human knowledge and can only be experienced by meditation and practice.
Tsa-rLung
practice starts with the knowledge on Tsa,
‘channels‘, and how to use the wind power through yogic practice. The
concentration, meditation and visualization as well as love and
compassion motivation are this tradition's way of practice.
CAIRN
Coaching areas of focus includes the following:
- Confidence rejuvenation
- Career strategic
counselling
- Fostering Synergy
relationships
- Trans-cultural
communication skills
- Perception of the Body
of Light energy
- Dream yoga and
transmutation achievements
- Tsa-rLung Healing &
Divination with Elements practices
- Getting to know what
you really want in life through Catharsis.
How
is it practiced?
Coaching can be conducted through a number of mediums - here are the
most popular:
- Sessions in person
- Sessions on the
telephone
- Sessions using
video-cam or email
- Group experiential
coaching sessions on site
- Group coaching through
videostreaming (e-teleclass)
During
each coaching session the coach and the client will discuss and explore
the clients' journey including their goals, wins, challenges, and
opportunities, as well as develop their fieldwork for the coming weeks.
Fieldwork consists of action steps to move the client closer toward his
or her goals and dreams. The client brings the agenda and the coach
brings the coaching skills to create a partnership that moves the
client forward.
CAIRN
fully abides to the basic principles of Spiritual Coaching. During your
journey, we will share and seek with you, through a non directive Quest
how to best approach the established wisdom and teachings of late
Tarab Tulku Rimpoche, H.H. Dudjom Rimpoche, H.H. Dilgo Khyentse, as
well as of masters and yogis still well alive today, so as to create
and nurture with you a new path to the Body of Light Awareness,
Rejuvenation and Wisdom.

" Boddhanath, Island of Peace"

Tsa-rLung
Coaching
Cairn
Tsa-rLung Certificate is primarily based on a Personal
Research Project including, as required by ECTS/ECDL
guidelines, a project paper presentation, group seminars,
Mixed Mode online courses and instructors face-to-face
activities. This allows for flexible learning
experiences based upon the needs of a specific research. The
number of supervision meetings will depend upon the project
TOR chosen.
Each Research Project conducts a qualitative
investigation into the Tsa-rLung Applied Psychology Healing
experiences, and will be supervised within the academic
framework of a pilot evaluation strategy implemented from the
cohort of participants studying such module. The evaluation
methodology is based on both the
assessment of mixed-mode e-learning, as well as Project Papers, which
include the subjective, perceptual and experiential aspects of
the learners’ experiences.
Tsa-rLung Traditional Healing
Tibetan
Traditional Medicine healing practice
‘Tsa-rLung’, may also be also called ‘hand healing’,
these two Tibetan words meaning, per se: ‘channels-wind’.
Similar to the Reiki and Tai-Ji this is a Tibetan version of
these well known techniques for energy healing. Similarly it
may be traced back in Central Asia and Tibet Himalayan
Shamans, either in Bon-Pos or Amchis Traditional Healing since
thousands of years ago, and so far has been preserved in the
Tibetan Materia Medica, Tsa-rLung Lamas, Dzogchen Lamas and
Nagpas Yoga Lineages, presenting today various forms all
issued from the identical Shamanic Healing Roots, but
sometimes presented to Westerners nowadays as part of an
so-called secret knowledge. Practically, it simply can be
learned, practices and experienced in ways being similar to
other sources, such as in Ajna Yoga, Pranadi / Panorama Yogas,
Reiki, Tai-Ji and Acupuncture developmental
curricula.
The technique of the Tibetan
Tsa-rLung practice, is derived from the
Tsa-rLung-‘khrul’khor-gyi-bcos-thabs, a yogic tantric
tradition of ancient Tibetan and Indian Buddhist masters. More
than 2500 years ago, Buddha’s healing hands cured many people
in this world and the tradition is still practiced by the
Tibetan lamas and spiritual masters. They cure the people by
giving love, compassion, and spiritual energy, tantric and
mantric power. They transfer positive energy through their
hands by touch and restore the body/mind imbalances. This
practice entirely belongs to the Buddhist teaching and
practice.
The proper flow of the energy through the
body channels (Tsa) brings the cause of a good health
and prolongs life. It helps to avoid the toxin accumulation in
the channels which blocks the channels and rLung/wind energy
in the heart of the body/mind. The Tsa-rLung therapy
practitioners learn the art of holistic healing and the deep
nature of the human body/mind systems by knowing the structure
of the traditional psycho-physical nature and its functions.
One who understands the method may become able to regulate
these complex systems. Certain subjects are beyond the human
knowledge and can only be experienced by meditation and
practice.
In
principle, learning the techniques of Tsa-rLung healing
involves various steps. Firstly, the body must be attuned to
the more subtle perception level of the energy body for giving
healing. The channels are to be (re-)opened by various
embodiments, breathing exercises, body movements and
visualizations/meditations, and the channels elements and
humours must be well-balanced. Thereafter, using the Tumo Yoga
for heat energy or the Tigle visualization for channelling,
again by means of the personalized energy practices, one must
become able to generate Tumo heat and control the energy, then
to release and control the healing energy. IN principle also,
Tsa-rLung techniques use various type of wind energy to
guide healing energy to the person undergoing
treatment.
However, there is also a more Tantric or
artistic way to perceive and control healing energies by using
Performing Arts, Archetypes Painting Visualisation, Sacred
Dance Embodiment, Divination Rituals, Pujas, Mandalas Yoga and
other Himalayan Shamanic tools, which may apply their
benevolent effect on the soul, mind and body of oneself or of
patients, by opening channels, embody archetypes energy and/or
restoring the balance of the spirits and elements, for purpose
of inspiration, visualization, healing and
rejuvenation.
Shamanic healing techniques, when duly controlled by an
experienced practitioner, may at a same time cleanse the
energy body and open possibility for better communication
between ones higher-self and the normal consciousness. As soon
as a channel between the higher-self and the consciousness is
initiateds, healing and visualization can go much further.
Dreams, divination, intuition, inspirations, visualization of
energy body(ies) and a new awareness directly will affect, on
a very practical and day-to-day basis, ones very personal
experiences. It helps to bring an entire human being into a
more harmonious state of mind and relationship with people,
their natural world or any contextual circumstances.
Reiki, Shamanic Healing Traditions and Tibetan
healing tradition Tsa-Lung, are working together. It seems to
me as if a big puzzle is very gently put together by invisible
hands and helps to give us an idea what our existence could be
about.
All these healing methods whether
they are ancient or lately channeled, once we have worked with
them, integrated them into our life and felt and trusted the
inner, hidden message within these techniques, help us
to realize that our life is changing. How could we
possibly not hear the message behind it. Healing and the
development of loving kindness are going hand in hand and help
us to do the next step further.
Cairn Tsa-rLung Healing
& Performing Arts always will include explanations on the
concepts, systems and techniques involved, as well as the
medical knowledge required for proper healing. All
participants will be guided through the exercises and
visualisation, and of course initiated in healing power, when
necessary.
Comprehensive Training
CAIRN
Tsa-rLung curriculum is generally divided
into sub-modules, which are flexible and can be tailored to
any particular background, praxis, needs or audience. Although
the content is of a rather sophisticated nature, for being
linked with conceptualization, visualization and control of
the Subtle Energy Body and channels, the language and
practices are accessible and jargon-free, making the training
and material user-friendly for participants, at all levels and
disciplines.
The training is a dynamic combination of
prior- tested conceptual references and experiential
exercises. Emphasizing the critical concepts of awareness,
empowerment and developmental collaboration, CAIRN training
focuses on three major goals:
-
A
theoretical framework to guide work in healing, self-healing
and counselling
-
Specific diagnosis and intervention techniques to use
either with clients or self
-
Attention to the internal needs of consensual
archetypal coherence, tantric awareness procedures,
cleansing and lineage protection or powerplaces
In
addition, the curriculum cogently addresses the common
questions, concerns, and skepticism about the Tibetan Medicine
Materia Medica, Traditional Shamanic Healing, Hermeneutic
Awareness in Tibetan Group focused praxis and on treatment
efficacy. Participants are given many opportunities to
question conceptual references, address core issues with
Trainers, as well as test and practice their new skills.

Buddhist Psychology and Psychotherapy
Tibetan Medicine Tsa-rLung Psychology and Psychotherapy
is unlike the Western approach imbedded deeply in experiential
as the basis of knowledge. It is deeply related to Buddhist
Philosophy concepts of the nature of mind and energy, and its
approach to understand the mind and its nature. Especially, it
looks to the mind and mental health in its purely
philosophical and spiritual bases. Its soft approach and
development of human natural psychology gives way to the
understanding of many causes of psychological
disequilibrium.
The
Tibetan Medicine Tsa-rLung psychology course presents and
analyzes the possible points of contact between Buddhist
psychology and modern psychology. It includes a detailed study
of the unique psychological aspects of Tibetan Buddhism and an
explanation of the functions of the mind. It illustrates the
appropriate therapeutic techniques to provide the students
with a training meant to understand the patient’s needs. The
course provides a sound basis for the diagnosis and therapy
appropriate to the psycho-somatic disturbance to optimize the
quality of the cure and to re-establish balance and health in
the subject.
The
course also deals with psychosomatic concept and methods of
Tibetan meditation, yoga, respiration, visualization, mantric
recitation, dream and various other healing methods according
to the Tibetan medical tradition and medical psychology. The
ancient patrimony of Tibetan culture is an articulated complex
of knowledge which can give doctors and psychologists the
possibility of enriching their practice with a holistic
approach and related techniques.

Tsa-rLung Introduction
Sub-modules
Tsa-rLung experiential training is divided into 5
Sub-modules:
Tsa-rLung Energy Body Concepts (Dudjom
lineage)
CAIRN
has chosen as a principal concepts for training practices
:
-
Ngondrö (ref- Namgyal Rimpoche, Jadral
Rimpovhe, Ralou Rpch):
As
the foundation of the teaching, the courses will begin with
the preliminary practices, which focus on the purification
of the Outer Doors (Body and Speech). Ngondrö consists of
contemplation, insight, purification, offering and devotion
practices. You will have the opportunity to receive clear
explanations into the details of actually engaging in the
practice ("tri"). You will also have the chance to engage in
the actual practices on many occasions.
-
Tsa-rLung (idem) :
After
Ngondrö, the next step is to work with the breath and the
positive and negative channels. The Tsa Lung practice is
considered secret. As a result, those wishing admittance to
this retreat must: 1) complete their Ngondrö accumulations;
2) have special permission resulting from an interview; and
3) be able to participate in the retreat. The traditional
signs of accomplishment, the generation of inner heat, will
be measured at this retreat. Retreatants should be prepared
to participate in a lot of physical activity.
-
Tibetan Medicine Body & Mind Cleansing
(Amchi Jampa, Amchi Kunzang, Amchi K. Dorje, Amchi Tashi
Pedon, Amchi Tenzin Wangpo...) :
The
Tibetan cleansing therapy practice is generally performed
during a Medicine Buddha retreat, but it can also be
performed anytime when required by the person. This practice
helps to remove toxins and heal the energetic disorders left
by intoxication, smoking, alcohol and unhealthy food and
drinks. The practice is derived from Tibetan medicine and is
very gentle and smooth. It is accompanied with yoga
exercises that help move the entire toxins and liberate the
body/mind from burdens of negative influences. It also helps
keep the mind clear and clean and improves meditation and
awareness. The method is also used as a preliminary
purification to the spiritual practice, and especially the
rejuvenation practices.
The rejuvenation therapy is
practiced along with the Medicine Buddha retreat, or
separately with the Tibetan body/mind cleansing retreat. The
practice is a very important method described in Tibetan
Medicine for those who wish to remain young and have a
powerful body/mind. The secret art of the rejuvenation is
made from combining special ingredients and their process of
detoxification. It is an ancient method that improves the
body strength, function of sensory and general organs, and
prolongs life with Ciudlen pills (extracted essence of herbs
and minerals). There are numerous rejuvenating healing herbs
growing in the mountains and also in the
terrains.
-
Tibetan Tantric Yoga ( Trul-khor &
LueJong)
The Tibetan tantric yoga is a practice
that has been done by Indian and Tibetan yogis for
centuries, and is not like the normal yoga practiced in the
West. It is a practice of rLung (psychic wind) and
exercise of the mind and psychic wind purely based on
spiritual development, which was laid down by the tantric
tradition of master Pundit Naropa and Lama Marpa Lotsawa.
The exercice removes the negative energies from the channels
and chakras by physical positions and movements which
harmonize wind and mind and release inner stress and
tension. The yoga technique basically helps stimulate the
channels and chakras, and gives an experience of realization
of the mind and its function.
Trul khor (lit. "magical
machine") is a Tibetan physical yoga practice which includes breath
awareness, mental concentration and precise movements designed
to bring the body of the practitioner into the perfect
balance: a machine-like perfection to free the practitioner
from drowsiness, agitation, and dullness. It is appropriate
for all levels of fitness. A longer title Tsa lung Trul
khor means "magical movement machine, channels and inner
breath currents".
Trul
khor traditionally consists of 108 movements, including bodily
movements, breathing, and visualisations, all performed to a
specific heart rhythm timing. The body postures of tibetan
ancient yogis are depicted on the walls of the Dalai Lama's
summer temple of Lukhang. It is thought to have originated
over many centuries as a combination of ancient Bon movements,
Indian hatha yoga, and Chinese movement forms. Tibetan
physical yogas vary slightly between lineages and the
complexity of the practices is often kept secret until a high
level of commitment has been made by the practitioner.
-
Yoga of the Elements The Yoga element
meditation is a special yogic practice used to purify our
basic five elements and re-balance the body/mind and
energies. It is a method that should first visualize space
and later the other elements and their colors one by one. It
should also purify one’s own body, organs, channels,
consciousness, subtle wind energies, and subtle and gross
bodies through mental exercises. The instructor guides the
practice with verbal instructions and participants listen to
the instruction and heal themselves through the elements
visualization.

The Body of Light (a synthesis with Dzogchen
Togyal)
The
complete explanation of these practices is only given from a
master to a student these teachings are appropriate. With the
practice of Trekchö, one cuts through delusion with
diamond-like thoroughness. When this has been thoroughly
accomplished, the master will introduce Tögyal, a Dzogchen
practice through which, via the posture and the gaze, one
works directly with the light inherent in all phenomena using
specific practices to reveal it within him or herself. Both of
these practices are indispensable for a deep understanding of
what occurs in the between states that arise after death.
These practices can only be achieved through receiving the
inspiration and blessing from a living master who has realized
them.

Praxis
Proper flow of energy through the body channels
(Tsa) brings the cause of a good health and prolongs
life. It helps to avoid the toxin accumulation in the channels
which blocks the channels and heart functions of the
body/mind. The Tsa-rLung therapy practitioners learn the art
of holistic healing and the deep nature of the human body/mind

psycho-physical nature and its functions. One who understands
the method may become able to regulate these complex systems.
Certain subjects are beyond the human knowledge and can only
be experienced by meditation and practice. The Tsa-rLung
practice starts with the knowledge on Tsa, ‘channels‘,
and how to use the wind power through yogic practice. The
concentration, meditation and visualization as well as love
and compassion motivation are this tradition's way of
practice.
